Tie-breakers:
In the women's event, tie-breakers are needed to decide which 2 teams will
have to play the B-Championships next year. Denmark beat both Germany and Norway
and is ranked 8a. The winner of the first game (Germany vs. Norway) will play
Denmark on Friday at 13.00.
In the men's event, a tie-breaker will decide if Sweden or Denmark will play USA
in the semifinal.
A second tie-breaker will be played between Russia and Germany to determine,
which country has to play the B-Championship.
Both men's tie-breaker will be played on Friday at 13.00.
Schedule:
All times are local Ogden/Salt Lake City times (standard Mountain time, 8
hours behind central European time).
USA will not change to Summer time (DST) this weekend, the time difference to
Europe on Sunday will be 9 hours.

Event:
The World Junior Curling Championships 2001 are being held in the same arena
in Ogden as will be the Olympic Curling Event at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter
Games. It is the official test event for the Olympic Games, so the same schedule
and the same system of play is used.
Sheets:
10 Women's and 10 Men's Teams are competing at the event. Yet, there are
only 4 sheets in the arena because it is impossible for TV to cover 5 sheets at
the Olympic Games. Therefore the schedule had to be changed to 4 sheets (with
one TV production unit per sheet). At the World Junior Curling Championships
only the Men and Women finals on sheet C will be covered live on TV; at the
Olympic Games, all 4 sheet will be covered live on TV.
Results / Internet:
CURLIT as on-venue result provider for Curling at the Games in 2002 is part
of this years test event. We feed the internet as fast and good as possible (the
internet is not connected to the result system because of security reasons) but
it is not our primary focus during this event so delays might happen.
